ABOUT DISHES FOR DOGS

Dishes For Dogs is a local start-up based in Wynwood dedicated to preparing fresh, all natural, and nutritionally balanced meals for all dogs. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for our dogs using our whole food recipes formulated by Dr. Justin Shmalberg. Dr. Shmalberg is a Board-Certified Veterinarian Nutritionist and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. We cook and package the food in Wynwood to be picked up at our location, or delivered to your door. Construction on our Canine Kitchen has begun and we are looking for passionate team members to help us bring fresh food to as many dogs as possible!

  • Customer Engagement Team

    Reports to: General Manager

    The Customer Engagement Team will often be the first point of contact between our customer and our brand and is thus a very important position. We have ambitious goals and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are looking for articulate, outgoing, and motivated dog lovers who want to grow with our brand.

    Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

    • Greet and engage all customers with a smile and friendly disposition.
    • Drive sales by using product knowledge to educate and thoughtfully guide customers through each step.
    • Use creative problem-solving skills to accommodate customer requests.
    • Ensure positive customer experience by using tact to resolve conflict. Clarify the customer's complaint; determine the cause of the problem; select and explain the best solution to solve the problem; expedite correction or adjustment; follow up to ensure resolution.
    • Maintain clean and organized retail area including floor, check out counter, product displays, entrances and bathrooms, windows, merchandising freezers, etc.

    Work Environment:

    • Working in proximity to slicers, ovens, steamers, and stove tops

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to use ladder
    • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

    Position Type and Expected Work Hours:

    Part-Time, 25 hours/week between 9AM and 9PM

  • Canine Kitchen Staff - Chef

    Reports to: General Manager

    The Canine Kitchen Staff is at the heart of our business. We aim to craft a consistent product daily to ensure safety and efficacy for our four-legged customers. One of the most important aspects of the DFD experience is our open kitchen. We are bringing transparency to the dog food industry and want our customers to see the integrity of our process. This means our kitchen staff is in full view of the customer at all times and will represent the brand as much as the Customer Engagement Team. We have ambitious goals and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are looking for articulate, outgoing, and motivated dog lovers who want to grow with our brand.

    Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

    • Execute prep work i.e. vegetable washing, vegetable peeling, slicing meat, trimming meat, measuring/portioning ingredients, etc.
    • Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry
    • Use proper measuring and cooking skills to execute recipes with precision to maintain strict quality standards
    • Maintain clean and organized kitchen including floor, work areas, cooking equipment, sinks, walk-ins, dry goods storage, utensils, shelving, etc.
    • Help maintain detailed inventory by documenting usage of ingredients in inventory log
    • Receive and store/stock supplies, such as food or utensils in cupboards, on shelves, in refrigerators, etc.
    • Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
    • Sweep and mops floors daily
    • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment when necessary
    • Ensure positive customer experience by performing all kitchen duties with a positive and friendly disposition
