USDA Ground Venison: Sourced from New Zealand where is is raised on pasture and grass-fed. New Zealand’s producers adhere to a strict animal welfare code and are never given any growth hormones, antibiotics or genetically engineered feed. Venison is an excellent source of protein typically more lean than beef. This novel protein is rich in zinc, selenium, iron, and B vitamins.
Butternut Squash: Low glycemic complex carbohydrate rich in the antioxidant vitamins A(beta-carotene), C and E as well as potassium, manganese, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, calcium and magnesium.
Eggs: An extremely nutrient dense food. Eggs supply high-quality complete protein with an impressive amino acid profile while also providing selenium, phosphorus, B12, and riboflavin.
Pumpkin: Contains soluble fiber which helps regulate the speed of digestion. A very good source of vitamin A, vitamin E, potassium, copper, and pantothenic acid.
Zucchini: Contains antioxidant carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, which may protect against age-related macular degeneration. Also a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate, magnesium, potassium and manganese.
Brussels Sprouts: Excellent source of vitamins C and K, the latter of which is an important anti-inflammatory nutrient. This combined with the impressive omega-3 content helps avoid excessive inflammation. Brussels sprouts also provide fiber, potassium, folate, manganese, copper, and calcium. Studies suggest that cruciferous vegetables such as brussels sprouts possess anticancer properties. The American Cancer Society recommends that Americans increase their intake of these types of vegetables.
Sweet Corn: Farm-grown whole kernel cooked corn is a digestible source of amino acids and energy, and has numerous health benefits unlike some of the processed corn products. It contains antioxidants like lutein which help with vision and fibers which regulate carbohydrate digestion. A phytonutrient ferulic acid may help reduce inflammation in the body and both trace minerals and vitamins support normal metabolism.
Garbanzo Beans: High-fiber source of complete protein and complex carbohydrate. Very good source of folate and manganese.
Spinach: A very good source of vitamin K, magnesium, folate and manganese and zinc.
Cranberries: Good source of vitamin E and a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C and manganese. Has been shown to prevent the adhesion of certain bacteria in the urinary bladder.
Grass-Fed Butter: Provides high quality palatable fats and essential fatty acids along with the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.
VitaMineral Mix: Formulated by Dr. Shmalberg to complement each meal, these mixes blend cutting edge nutritional science with whole foods nutrition to maximize health and wellness.
